Client Story: Building Relationships with the Families We Serve

Welcoming a new life into the world is a journey filled with emotions—excitement, anticipation, and sometimes uncertainty. At First Choice for Women, we are honored to walk alongside families during this precious time, offering guidance, encouragement, and devoted support.

One of the greatest joys in our work is building relationships with the families we serve. Recently, we reached a milestone with a couple who has been coming to us throughout their entire pregnancy. As we completed their final crib lesson, the mother prepared to be induced the following week. From their very first visit, the couple expressed that they preferred no spiritual discussions or prayer, and we respected their wishes while continuing to support them wholeheartedly.

However, during this last visit, our volunteer advocate felt led to ask if they would be open to a prayer over them and their delivery. To our surprise and joy, they agreed! I was invited into the room, and together, we prayed over their growing family. When we finished, the father looked up and said, “That was wonderful—thank you, and thank you for all you’ve done for us. We can tell you all love what you do here.”

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Love, patience, and steadfast support can plant seeds of hope in the most unexpected ways. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and uplift families during such a transformative time in their lives.
